I just thought for this ocassion...the combo of the 40th Anniversary of Pet Sounds, and Brian performing it for the last time in concert, that I wanted to take the chance and do something really far out. My friend owns an action figure business, and I thought BINGO! this would be much cooler than another poster or tour book for the upcoming gigs. Melinda loved the idea, and so the process began! Hey, who wouldn't want a little 1966 Brian Wilson watching over their record collection or their recording studio?!

Someone recently asked me why this, rather than say, a bobble-head doll? Personally, I just think a bobble-head may be too "baseball game", too "comic book"...I wanted this one to be a little more respectful to this particular ocassion. A classy tribute, rather than a wacky toy. Now, I know Brian's more creative fans, and I'm sure we'll be seeing the big guy with a fire helmet and no shirt animated on youtube soon enough! Just don't forget that Grammy award kids!

I always thought the way they created these figures where by scanning photos and spitting out a 3-D likeness on the other end of the doll machine! Boy was I wrong. The head was done by an amazing sculpure artist by hand, then cast into a plastic head and then hand painted.

There will be a Limited Edition version; 300 pieces signed by Brian and numbered (by me, I assume!) and another $75 dollar version of the figure.

And by the way, the clothes are all real and done to scale, not molded onto the body like many of the other 12" figures I've seen out there.
