| Brother Dennis died in 1983, ending the original Beach Boys lineup. 1985 saw a rejuvinated Brian write four original songs that helped "The Beach Boys" album become the group's most successful in many years. Ready to finally strike out on his own, Brian released the critically-acclaimed solo album "Brian Wilson" in 1988, effectively ending the Beach Boys as we know them today.
