And Brian Wilson himself rode that sparkling swell, writing, arranging and producing an astonishing 18 hit albums with more than 30 hit singles. The 1960s saw two masterpieces of Amercian popular music: "Pet Sounds" and "Good Vibrations," both from 1966.
